Donating a Scholarship

Letter to the DHS Community.docx (includes form)

February 1, 2021

Hello Dundalk Community!

At this time, early plans are being made for the Dundalk High School CLASS OF 2021 AWARDS CEREMONY, which will be held at the end of May or beginning of June. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and current state of virtual learning, we have not yet been able to finalize the date of the awards ceremony. In past years, an in-person ceremony has been held to celebrate both our students and scholarship donors. As soon as the ceremony date has been confirmed, we will be sure to share this with you.  Please let us know if you are interested in providing scholarship funding or recognition for our graduating seniors.

A faculty committee usually makes the final selection for financial awards based on criteria that include grade point average, participation in school and community events, financial need and acceptance for enrollment in a post-secondary school by the time of graduation.  Your organization certainly may provide guidelines for selecting your scholarship recipient if you wish.  All we ask is that we are informed of your criteria so we can see that your wishes are honored.  If you would like, arrangements can be made for you to interview possible candidates.

The following timeline will help us prepare for this important event:

Friday, FEBRUARY 12, 2021 OR SOONER:  Please return the enclosed data sheet with preliminary information by February 12th.  If you would like to specify selection criteria, you may do so on the attached DATA SHEET.  If you need additional information you may call Mrs. Donna Williams, Counseling Secretary, at 443-809-7027, or email her at [email protected].

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2021: If you plan to deposit the scholarship money into the Dundalk High School Scholarship account, please submit a check payable to Dundalk High School by February 19th.  If not, please have a check payable to the award recipient or college ready for the Awards Assembly.

We look forward to your participation in our Awards Ceremony.  We deeply appreciate your support and generosity.

Sincerely,

Amanda Sands
