Model United Nations
Model UN (MUN) is a simulation of the UN General Assembly, where students step into the shoes of ambassadors from assigned countries. Participants work in teams of 2 to prepare a written statement about their designated country and its stance on this year’s issue. Teams will then engage in debates and seek solutions to real-world problems from the perspective of their assigned nation at the conference in March.
How Does It Work?
In the upcoming weeks, you and another student will:
1. Be assigned a country to represent.
2. Begin research on your country and this year’s topic.
3. Draft a position paper embodying your assigned country's standpoint on the topic.
4. At the MUN Conference students present speeches and engage in debates with peers from across BCPS.
