As a nation we are becoming increasingly
aware of our interdependence with other cultures and other
nations, and of our need to participate in the global
community. Additionally, the growing diversity of Maryland’s
population demonstrates the importance of graduating students
who are sensitive to other languages and other cultures. World language study helps students develop
cultural sensitivity and an understanding of the cultural
changes occurring in the local, state, national and
international communities. World language study also helps
students develop the skills necessary to participate in the
global community. The World Language/ESOL department at Dundalk
High School offers courses in French, Spanish and English as a
Second Language.
